Tea Time Ramblings:Trying Something New

This weeks Instagram post

This week's ramble
It's hard to try something new. It's easy and comfy to stay in your comfort zone. But it's important to brake out of the box and try new things.
I had my orientation for ClubHouse this week (Check my last blogpost if you want to read more about it).
I was really looking forward to going to Club, but it was terrifying as well. I haven't really been around interacting with large groups of people for a very long time. But I did it anyway.
Did I have only fun because I faced a big fear? No. I didn't. There where definitely a lot of things that made me anxious. It wasn't all sunshine and roses.
But did I have fun?
Yes! I did!
Am I going back?
Yes! I can't wait to get into the flow there. I think once I get used to it, it will become easier. Right not I'm just not used to working with so many people. However, spending more time with people I think will enrich my life. I look forward to joining the team!

If you want to see my ClubHouse orientation blog post, it is here

I had my weekly boba, I tried a slush this time! It was the Mango Slush! Very yummy, but I wish the slush was easier to drink. This probably won't prevent me from ordering it again haha.

Delicious breakfast made for me by my mum, thank you mum!

Went to the Mall with this cutie! I haven't seen her forever and really enjoyed spending time with her again! I hope to find more time again soon!

That Day's Outfit and Makeup

My haul from that day, blog post is coming up on it soon so stay tuned!

So cute!
Yummy hot chocolate with marshmallows and candy canes. It's never too early for candy canes in hot chocolate!

Mum took me to this adorable pastry shop after my first day for orientation as a special treat! It was delicious!

Lesson of the week
Trying something new is hard. Being in a new environment is difficult. Getting out of your comfort zone is going to take effort.
But it's worth it. You learn and experience things even if you don't want to do it again, you can get a lot out of it. Any who knows, you might find you love doing this new thing. You'll never know if you never go.

First Impressions : CLUB Orientation

Hi hi! In this blogpost I will be sharing my first impressions of my Club as I complete a 3 day orientation. I hope this will help some of you! If you didn't see my last blogpost on ClubHouse, you can find it here!
Okay here we go~

Day 1
In summery, my impression today was that Club is very fun but also... kinda weird. But I must remind myself that this is of every place. Everywhere, everybody, has their strangenesses and their inconsistencies.
Orientation is a very sink or swim process. Your just kinda tossed in there with the hope you will come up for air. This is good I find, it gets the "Oh crap I've got to do something, anything!" thing going in you, but it can also be rather stressful.
The more I got into it though, the easier it was, and everyone was supper kind and helpful, so my suggestion is to just trust it's going to work and go.
I also met some very nice people. I wasn't really expecting to on my first day; to be honest I was expecting/hoping it would be a nice place to get skills at a slower pace and work quietly and independently and be on my own more of the time. HAHAHAHAHA. Everything is fast paced and energetic, you connect with people easily. This is not a solitary environment. Which is good! I spend too much time alone.
In conclusion: I am exited to see what tomorrow brings. The department I'm most interested in is on the 3rd day so I can't wait for that! (There are basically 6 main departments in the Club and you tour 2 of them each day.)
Day 1 Look

Day 2
Today was an up and down day. The beginning of the day was anxiety provoking and the end was satisfying.
I started off working in the kitchens today. I volunteered to be dish washer, not fully understanding the enormity of my job. I did it, and I was told I did it well, but by the end of it both my clothing and my feelings where rather damp and bedraggled. I was soaked. I was anxious and frantic at lunch time, having made several mistakes in what I did and trying not to mess up more then I already had.
After lunch we went to a unit I didn't think I'd connect to at all. It seemed so so so far away from what I wanted to do, filing, grant writing and the such. and then I heard the magic words:
Does anyone know how to use iMovie?
I was hooked. I stayed an hour past my stay time just to finish the project I was working on. It made me think that I might be interested...
So in conclusion: good and bad. Just because the day starts out unfortunately doesn't mean it will all go bad. You might find something really nice.

Day 3
The day started off with me almost being late because I forgot my phone and had to go back to get it. Then, we went to our first unit of the day and I started off by doing a lot of cleaning of things, the bathroom, door handles, keyboards and the such. Then I was sat down with birthday cards to write the name on and then fill out the envelope. I did this for the entire morning.
After lunch, I got to learn all about these schooling and working opportunities. They offer help with collage, transitional work opportunities and supported work opportunities. This was very interesting.
At the end of the day, we decided which unit we would go into. I chose Training and Development.(That was the one I used iMovie in) I just really liked the people in that unit and felt useful and appreciated there. I might also bounce in and out of business to help with video editing, something I look forward to doing in my new unit. I had a girl talk to me today about how amazing it would be if I joined Training as they where in desperate need of someone who could use iMovie. I am more then happy to oblige!

This has been quite the experience and I'm glad I did it! I can't wait to start Club on Monday and start joining the community. I look forward to many good times there.

Till next time~:

Tea Time Rambling: Anticipating Change

This weeks Instagram post

This week's ramble
Anticipating new changes.
I'm going through a lot of changes in my life right now. I'm just starting to work on my Easy and Blog, I'll be starting ClubHouse soon, and many more things.
Change is very difficult for me. And I think anticipation is probably the worst part. You don't know exactly what's going on, you have all those what if thoughts cuz you don't know what to expect, it hard! I get so many ideas, actually both exiting and scary, and my brain is a confusing mess. I feel so out of control.

But it's important to let go and trust. Trust that you will make it, you've come this far, you can reach further! It may be uncomfortable, but it's nothing you are not capable of. And you can Handle it!
Have faith in yourself, you are awesome!

Enjoyed boba at KungFuTea

Took Fern to the park. I was very fun.

Went to the farm stand. The peaches where so big! And this tiny little eggplant!

Played with Fern a lot and tried to take selfies with him. He's wiggley!

Went to JoAnnes to get some yarn and lace for some different projects I'm working on. Both for their pets actually....

Finally found the yarn I was looking for for one of the above projects! Yay!!!

Stopped at a cute little bakery. Mum and I had cake.

Lesson of the week
Believe in yourself. You are capable of so much. Things you don't even know yet. Embrace it, love it! You are amazing!

Tea Review Blueberry tea

Isn't a nice cup of tea one of the best things ever?

The other day, one of my fav YouTubers did some tea reviews on her channel. She made everything sound so delicious that I decided I'd like to start drinking more tea.

I do drink tea rather regularly, but only green or black tea. I haven't really tried much in terms of herbal tea. However, she made it sound so good I decided I wanted to try herbal tea, and branch out in other types of tea too. Explore, discover new flavors!

One of my medications requires me to drink a lot of fluid and well, water gets old after a while. This was the perfect excuse for a little change.

So, I went to the store and got a few teas to try out! Here is the beginning of the tea reviews!

Celestial Herbal Blueberry tea

The first tea I tried was from this cute little fruit tea sampler by Celestial! I think it's so nice that you can get an assortment to see what you like. This came with Raspberry Zinger, Country Peach Passion, Wild Berry Zinger, True Blueberry, and Black Cherry Berry.  The first one I tried was the True Blueberry.

It comes in this nice little pack separated from the other flavors so as not to mix them! I love that they are not individually packaged cuz, go earth! But sad at the same time as I would imagine it difficult to keep it clean like an individually packaged on if you wanted to put one in your bag.

Review

This tea was delicious!

I was expecting it to be really regular tasting but it was full of flavor! It definitely tasted of blueberries which was a nice surprise! I was also expecting it to taste very herbal with a hint of blueberry but no! It was very blueberry with a subtle herbal back flavor.

This tea is not caffeinated, so lovely for the afternoon or evening! This is very nice because in the morning when I want something other then water I grab caffeinated tea or coffee. Sometimes I have juice throughout the day, but there is something about tea that's so warm and comforting.

It is very sweet, even on it's own. I probably doesn't need sweetener, but I like honey so I added some.

I would say this is a good summer-fall beverage as it is refreshing but also warm and rich.

It's also delicious iced!

Tea Time Ramblings: Baby steps

This weeks Instagram post

This week's ramble
Overcoming things is hard. It looks so big and I find myself wondering how I'll ever do it when I stumble into one (which is quite often).
Recently, I have't been going and trying things that is not part of my day to day life. I stay at home. I go to cafes to blog. I don't get out much and experience much, I have my own safe little bubble and I like to stay there.
However, staying in that bubble always depresses me, and then I have even less motivation to go out and do things.
Fear has been a big component to me. The more I avoid doing something, the scarier it gets to do it.
Knowing this, my mother saw me sinking and brought me to one of my grate loves, and now fears.
The ocean
It was very difficult at first. I could only think of what might go wrong. Being bitten, drowning, or dyeing in general being some of my fears.
But I went in anyway. And guess what?
IT WAS TERRIFYING
I'm not going to deny it. It really was. But you know what? I kept pushing with the help of my greatest support. And pretty soon, terrifying turned to uncomfortable, and that turned to okay. By the end I even found myself having fun. I felt so much more at one with myself and the world around me. It was actually such a relief!
When we left, I still viewed the ocean as scary, but I also thought of it as a friend. And I think after a few more times, I'm feel more okay.

This weeks adventures

I have decided to try drinking some herbal teas. This will be nice in the afternoon when I shouldn't be drinking caffeine. The first one I tried was this True Blueberry tea from this cute little sampler by Celestial Teas. I will have that blogpost up soon!

I tried a new game on my 3DS (this one works on a regular DS as well)! It is called Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy. It is a really cool puzzle game, I haven't finished it yet, but it really makes you think with your common sense!
This game's graphics reminds me so much of studio Ghibli (maker of Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Spirited Away, Princess Mananoke and many more)
It has that whimsical magical beautiful aspect.

I also visited a yarn shop called Wool Works this week! I have been here before, but it was a very long time ago. It is so cute! They have so many yarns and I wanted to buy well more then my budget would allow. I also took some time and got to sit down and knit with some lovely ladies and it was fun hearing their stories. I'd like to go more regularly as it was a grate motivator to knit when everyone else is knitting too~!

Lesson of the week
You know, with recovery I see a lot of people (including myself) who want a instant fix. Even if it's a more painful fix, like facing your fear and then being perfectly okay with it after that. Grand even.
But I don't thing that's how it works. I think it's a lot of little baby steps. Leaving the ocean still feeling a little afraid is somewhat disappointing, however, I'm pretty content. I look forward to going again and again and again till it's okay again and enjoying the journey as much as I can.
Baby steps.

ClubHouse, My Introduction to this World

Club House is a place for people with mental disabilities to go meet other people, find job opportunities  seek support, create a sense of community, and so much more.

It has been recommended I join a club house! To be honest, I am so exited!

The Clubhouse I visited is suppose to be one of the best around (or so I've been told). I was very anxious about it.
It was a beautiful building on a pretty little hill with lots of flowers all around. I really nice guy was our tour guide and I have to say, I was very impressed! There was an aria dedicated to finding work, help with work, and furthering your education. The cafeteria was beautiful. The front office was neat and welcoming. Upstairs was where I felt at home. It was very artistic, the walls where decorated with art available to sell created by members. I also found out there is a twice a year gallery show of the art! I am so in to that, it sounds like so much fun! They also have a film aria, which I was so exited about! They do a news video twice a week and members collect information, interview, and get to help edit the clubhouse news. I am very ready to jump into that! Though out the club house, there are plenty of opportunities even if you're not into the artsy stuff like me. You can help prepare meals in the caff, you can work in the front office, and lots of other things!

I look forward to making many happy memories there!
